Two brothers kill uncle’s guard, son over car in Enugu
The Enugu State Police Command said it has arrested two brothers for allegedly killing a security guard and his 12-year-old son in an attempt to steal and sell their uncle’s car.
The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, disclosed this on Thursday, after the Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Ammani, ordered the siblings’s arrest for investigation.
He said the suspects, Chinedu Nnaona, 25, and Maduabuchi Nnaona, 21, who hail from Onuakpaka, Ndiagu-Akpugo in Nkanu West Local Government Area of the state, were arrested on March 13, 2023, by policemen attached to the Uwani Police Division.
He said their arrest was sequel to an earlier report received at Nkanu West Police Division on March 12, alleging the murder of one Christian Ngene, who is the security guard and caretaker of the hometown residence of the suspects’ uncle, Onuakpaka Ndiagu-Akpugo, and his 12-year-old son, Promise Ngene.
The statement partly read, “Upon receipt of the report, police operatives from the division swiftly moved to the scene, found and evacuated the lifeless bodies of the victims to the hospital, where they were confirmed dead by doctors and their remains deposited in the mortuary for preservation and autopsy.
“Two knives, two hand gloves and broken pieces of a concrete baluster, used by the suspects to perfect the act, were recovered at the scene.”
